Paper on the rocks
Hoewel papier bekendstaat als een materiaal dat zich goed leent voor hergebruik, is de hoeveelheid water en het kappen van bomen dat nodig is voor de papierproductie nog immer zorgelijk. Paper on the Rocks zoekt daarom naar manieren om papier te vervaardigen van alternatieve grondstoffen. De notitieboeken van Paper on the Rocks worden gemaakt van ongebruikelijke restmaterialen zoals steengruis van bouwplaatsen of plantaardige overblijfselen uit de agricultuur. Daarnaast probeert Paper on the Rock ook de productieprocessen steeds milieuvriendelijker en meer circulair te maken. In CODA Paper Art laten we van Paper on the Rocks een aantal prototypes zien om zo inzicht te geven in het lange proces dat nodig is om dit soort nieuwe producten te kunnen ontwikkelen.
Although paper is considered to be a material that is wellsuited for recycling, the amount of water and the number of felled trees required for the production of paper remains worrying. This is why Paper on the Rocks looks for ways to make paper from alternative base materials. Their notebooks are made of unusual excess materials like rubble from building sites or vegetable remains from agriculture. In addition, Paper on the Rocks is on a continuous quest to make its production processes more eco-friendly and more circular.
