Voor CODA meer dan voldoende aanleiding en context om papier en karton als materialen een hoofdrol te geven en om het jaar in CODA Paper Art te laten zien hoe kunstenaars en ontwerpers papier en karton inzetten en wat recente ontwikkelingen zijn.

Oproep aanmeldingen

De tweejaarlijkse tentoonstelling CODA Paper Art heeft een internationaal karakter en toont in meest brede zin de actuele ontwikkelingen op het gebied van papierkunst. Voor deze tentoonstelling nodigen we professionele kunstenaars en ontwerpers uit om een voorstel in te dienen. Papier en/of karton is daarbij het gebruikte materiaal óf het onderwerp van het werk. Naast beeldende kunst is ook werk uit andere disciplines welkom. Denk aan animaties, films, digitaal werk, mode, vormgeving, sieraden of performance art. Het voorgestelde werk moet recent gemaakt zijn (niet ouder dan twee jaar). Voorstellen voor nieuw werk of in situ te realiseren werk kunnen ook ingediend worden. De tentoonstellingsruimte van CODA is bij uitstek geschikt voor ruimtelijke werk en installaties van groot formaat. Deelnemend kunstenaars ontvangen een honorarium volgens de richtlijnen van de Fair Practice Code.

Indienen voorstel

Een voorstel moet de volgende zaken bevatten om in behandeling te kunnen worden genomen:

• Een omschrijving van het werk of het voorgenomen in situ werk (max één A4);

• Bij nieuw werk een omschrijving van het werkproces, materiaal, formaat, benodigdheden en een kostenraming;

• CV kunstenaar en een korte artist statement;

• Beeld van het werk in hoge resolutie of schetsen van het voorgestelde in situ werk (+ maker, titel, jaartal en naam van het bestand).

Let op: het indienen van een voorstel betekent niet automatisch dat het werk opgenomen wordt in de tentoonstelling. CODA selecteert op basis van kwaliteit en geschiktheid een aantal deelnemers. Kunstenaars die deelgenomen hebben aan CODA Paper Art 2025 zijn uitgesloten van deelname aan CODA Paper Art 2027.

International call for entries

Every other year, CODA Paper Art shows the entire range of art made of paper; from small artworks and objects to huge installations and performance art. Whereas some objects and artworks highlight a social theme or aspects of the artist’s private life, others tell a story of technique and material or touch upon on the paper history and industry of the province of Gelderland. To this very day, this industry flourishes, explores, innovates and experiments.

More than enough reason and context, then, for CODA to put paper and cardboard centre stage, to show how these materials inspire artists and designers all over the world and what recent developments are.

The biennial exhibition CODA Paper Art has an international character and shows in the broadest sense what has recently been made from paper and/or cardboard. For this exhibition we invite professional artists and designers to submit a proposal. Paper and/or cardboard is the material used or the actual subject of the work submitted. In addition to visual art, work from other disciplines is also welcome. Think of animations, digital art and installations, fashion, jewellery, design or performance art. It is important that the proposed work is recent (no older than two years). Proposals for new work or work to be realised in the museum can also be submitted. CODA's exhibition spacel is perfectly suited to large spatial works and installations. Participating artists receive a fee that is accordance with the Fair Practice Code.

A proposal should consist of the following items to be taken into consideration:

• A description of the work or the proposed in situ work;

• A description of the work process, materials, size, necessities et cetera;

• Artist biography and a short artist statement;

• Images of the work in high resolution or sketches of the proposed in situ work (maker, title, year and title of the file).

Please note: submitting a proposal does not automatically mean that the proposed work will be included in the exhibition. CODA selects a number of participants on the basis of quality and suitability. Artists who participated in CODA Paper Art 2025 are not eligible to take part in CODA Paper Art 2027.
